Please submit your entry form if you intend to race this season

The club has replaced the old safety form with an entry form. The entry form covers off the old safety requirements, but also provides information for our sailing administration and handicapping teams. A copy of the form is available on the Sailing Instructions page and will be available at the clubhouse shortly. Could everyone wishing to race this season, please fill in a copy and return it to Lynn Porter, our safety officer John Hermans, or Brian. This needs to be done by 28 February, or results will be excluded. The sailing committee intends to enforce this strictly. If you have any questions about the safety requirements, please talk to John Hermans. Members are also reminded that there have been some changes to the sailing instructions - have a look if you intend to race but haven't yet done so.

Nigel Kennedy's Hilarious Hypnosis Show

Saturday 24 March

Come along to the club and see Nigel Kennedy's Hilarious Hypnosis Show. 90 minutes of side-splitting fun, fits of laughter are guaranteed. We are hosting the show as a fundraiser for the club, so bring along your friends for a night of fun. Volunteers will have the time of their lives, and be the stars of the show. Bar opens at 1930h, show starts at 2000h. Tickets are only $20.00 each and limited to 50. So don't miss out, tickets are available from Lynn and Trish.

Port Nicholson Regatta 2012

Good luck to all the Lowry Bay boats heading across the harbour for the Port Nicholson Regatta (10-12 Feb). Lets show the RPNYC lads 'n lasses how it's done!

Twilight Series continues Wednesday

The Twilight Series continues every Wednesday through summer, until 14 March. Choose from two-handed at 1820h or fully-crewed at 1830h.

Pursuit Series A continues Friday

Every Friday during summer, there is social, no-spinnaker racing at 1815 hrs. So get the crew out to the club after work, blow the cobwebs away on the water, and enjoy a buffet meal and drink afterwards in the clubhouse.

Summer Series starts Sunday 19 Feb

The summer series kicks off in style with two races starting 1300h.

Sail Wellington Regatta Sunday 18 March

Mark in your diary 18 March for the Sail Wellington Regatta. See you on the water!

New Calendar of Events

Check out the new Calendar of Events, accessible from the menu bar above. The calendar currently contains details of the 2012 race programme as well as a less detailed summary from the past 2 years. Details of cruising, social and other events will be added as they come to hand.

Here are a few tips to get you started:

View additional detail by clicking on any event in the calendar.
Change how you view the calendar by clicking the week, month or agenda tabs at the top right.
The down arrow to the right of the "agenda" tab will let you select which calendar(s) to view (racing, cruising, general, etc).
If you have a Google account you can add the LBYC calendar details to your own calendar by clicking the Google button at bottom right.

Lowry Bay Yacht Club is a fantastic, reasonably-priced venue with two big reception rooms, bar and huge deck overlooking the marina and sunset. There's a big flat screen for showing photos, a commercial kitchen, and lots of parking. We can provide caterer, bar staff & cleaner.
